Our Story

Ancient Georgian name for April is ''Igrika'', that’s when our story begun...

Georgian culture has been evolved for over thousands of years from its foundation. The proto-Georgian tribes first appear in written history in the 12th century BC. Since then Georgian Ornament has not lost its function, more than a form of decoration it was used as a protective symbol of Kera (Home) and represented Old Georgians view on the World.

Our aim is to discover and use Ancient Georgian Symbols in modern way, not losing it's meaning. We are trying to keep the tradition alive by making hand carved blocks and printing ornaments on fabric. So all our work is handmade and unique in its own way.

Who we are

Gregor Dalakishvili and Baia Lomsadze, deeply in love with Georgian Culture.

How do we make it

One of our main values is to create high quality products that is suitable for long term use.

Printing on Fabric - We wash material and let it dry for a day, on the next day it takes several hours for us to print it by hand carved blocks and then we let it dry for 24h again. We gently iron it to fix the paint to fabric and wash it once again. The full process takes from 4 to 5 days.

Making hand carved Blocks - First of all we search for a symbol and it's meaning, we sketch design by mixing two or more ornaments together. After all we draw the symbol on a special block for printing , carve the shape for several hours and test it.

Making hand carved Wooden Boards - We make some sketches by mixing two or more ornaments together and draw the symbol on a special wood, we carve the shape for several hours and polish it several times. We use only natural oils to fix the color of the wood.

Making Unique Personalized Library Stamp - The most important part of the process is to know a little bio of the person. As you know we have three writing systems in Georgian language: Asomtavruli, Nuskhuri and Mkhedruli, so we use their beautiful shapes to express the character of the person.
